So, what is it like being a vendor at Steel Goat Marketplace? Being a vendor a SGM, is not about making money, although extra cash for supplies is always welcome. It is about having someone appreciate something that you created and appreciate it enough that they are willing to spend money on it and take your creation into their home or give it as a gift. Being a vendor at the Steel Goat, is being wrapped in an environment where other people share your passion for creating and they understand the euphoric high you experience when your creation is finished and you can stand back and say “I did this”. Being a vendor is being proud to accept the title of artisan and it is being secure enough in your own talents that you can take joy in the talents of others.

Being a creative is more than a hobby, it is an important part of my life. It is in my soul and helps to keep me sane in a world which often is anything but sane. Being creative allows me the ability to make someone laugh or smile. This is a wonderful feeling. I could tell you that I have always been an artsy sort of person. I could tell you I love the feel of the texture of a piece of fabric and that I have way too much of it. I could tell you that I get joy from seeing a flat, plain piece of muslin become a doll with their own personality.

I could tell you many things about my creative journey, but I won’t bore you here any further. I will invite you to visit the Steel Goat Marketplace. You will not be disappointed. You may find me covering the upstairs register and if you do, please stop to chat. If you are a creative too, we can swap stories. If you are not, maybe I can convert you!
