How do I become a Vendor at Steel Goat Marketplace?

Thanks for your interest! Becoming a vendor at SGM can be a very rewarding endevor. If you were interested in a space, we would ask that you text [412-576-8652] or email  [shoplocal@steelgoatmarket.com] pictures of what you would like to sell. We are primarily looking for vendors who can bring something unique the marketplace. Can’t wait to hear from you!

How much does a space typically cost?

Spaces at SGM range in price. Factors that can affect your monthly rent range from where you are located in the store to how much space you are taking up. Rent can be as low as 75$ a month. Please note there is an additional 17% Consignment fee on each item sold.

Is Steel Goat Marketplace dog friendly?

Yes we love to see the pups in our community! We don’t mind if you bring them in, just make sure they are leashed and well behaved, we have vendors with pet specific products including pet treats and fur baby bling! Come on in and spoil those fur children!

What’s up with that food truck I see set up in your parking lot?

Antojitos Hondurenos & More is a latin cusinie food truck. They have a Facebook Page where they keep their customers updated on where in the Pittsburgh Area they are serving their delicious food.  You can also order though UBER Eats

I’ve just discovered Steel Goat Marketplace, how long have you been around?

You would be surprised how many people, even in our home community of Penn Hills have never stepped foot in our building. Those who are curious enough to walk through our doors always have similar stories; “I’ve always drove by this building but never knew what was inside!”  When they finally see what they have been missing out on they ask the same question, how long have you been here?? The short answer is Steel Goat Marketplace is a fairly new endeavor, it has always been in the background of the business formerly known as Penn Hills Lawn and Garden. Do you accept credit cards including apple pay?

Yes! Unfortunatey with any card swipe (inculding debt cards) there will be an additional 3% Service fee. 

What is your refund policy?

No Refunds. All Sales Final. 

Can I purchase a gift certificate?

Yes! At the register on the upper level we have our “Goat Certificates” available.

What is your Loyalty Program?

Join our herd! Sign up at any register with your Name and Phone Number! You get 1 point for every dollar you spend, after 50 points you get $5 off our next purchase of $25 or more.

Starting January 1st of 2024 you can only use 50 Points per once per day

Every time I call the store no one answers, how can I get in touch with you?

What/When is Ladies Night?

Ladies Night is the first Thursday of every month! Deals last all day but the real festivities start after 4PM! Find complimentary wine and refreshments and baked goods in the Goat House, along with Vendor Demos and Live Entertainment! Ladies Night is always a fun time at Steel Goat Marketplace!

Do you sell firewood?

Yes! We sell trunk loads of wood! 35 Pieces for 30$

Jayme is very busy with back of house SGM operations so unfortunately cannot be at the store at all times. You can follow the provide link to ask Jayme your Plant Specific Questions and she will get back to you as soon as she can. Thanks for your understanding!

What Can I use the Goat House for?

Great Question! Private parties, workshops, classes, lunch meetings, football parties, open mic nights, yoga, dance lessons, and so much more! You name it and we’ll find away to make it work!

How many people can you fit in the space?

Capacity will depend on the type of Class/Worksho/Event being hosted. During warmer weather the outside entrance can stay open allowing more space for more fun!

Why is the rent so cheap? What is the catch?

Wow, I guess its is pretty cheap to rent this amazing room, isn’t it? That’s because we have over 100 Vendors Crafters Artisans Collectors Creators and more who will benfit from any class/workshop/event that brings in new people to our marketplace! Every event is a shopping opportunity for our Vendors to be seen!
